Y'all, I totally forgot the temperatures and the humidity in the south. I feel like I have been more aware of it after I had the luxury of four seasons up north. With that said, I went apple picking over my fall break! It was a fantastic, fall filled activity. I just may have to bring a pair of shorts and no jacket next time. Oh and no curling of the hair, ha! The place I decided on was in Hendersonville, NC. It was beautiful! I would highly recommend visiting the "little" town's main street. It has a Hallmark movie feel to it, and it reminded me a lot of the main streets on the Cape and New England in general.  

This.Jacket. Oh my goodness it is a whole other level! I already have 3 utility jackets in my closet and I just couldn't wait to add this one to my collection. It is so unique, I haven't seen one like it anywhere else. Who knew adding a ruffle and belle sleeves would bring up the level of sophistication for a utility jacket?!  It really was the perfect jacket for apple picking in crazy weather. Because, it has shorter sleeves and they are flared so you are able to have some air flow for warmer temps. Even if you were in the snow I would recommend a basic long sleeve tee or sweater to pop out or a flannel underneath. In all reality, it's the best jacket and you need to go get it while it's on sale because my pictures don't do it justice!

Even though this was a few weekends back I wanted to post a Weekend Wear anyway, because these are a few of my favorite pieces. Saturday I wanted to dress comfy and within the dress code of both my jobs. That was the day the first blizzard hit. I forgot to bring another pair of shoes and I wasn't expecting the weather to be as bad as it was; however, I'm happy to report that my booties survived trekking through a boot of snow.  But thankfully I found out I got my money's worth out of them, ha!

Sunday was just a lazy/sick/recover from the blizzard kind of day. I've loved the sweatshirts that look like they have a hood but they don't. Basically they are cowl neck with drawstrings. I have found a few that are either out of stock in my size or overpriced. I ran into Gap and found this one on the clearance rack. I'm not crazy about the print on it but at least it has something to do with traveling!

I know what y'all are thinking... those slippers are wild!! Why yes, they are most definitely wild and I need them in my life. I NEED them. So bad. Last year, when we first visited Cape Cod in the winter, my feet had become icicles. Therefore, those $125 would be put to good use! And if that isn't enough they are cheetah print, fuzzy, have a bow on them, and are Kate Spade. It's a "duh" moment for me. 

Thank you for listening to my rant! Now moving on. I am big into the color burgundy this fall, and it doesn't help that I am a big Carolina Gamecock fan. I love bold colors on lips but I can never really pull them off, or I just don't feel like going into the grocery store with bright red lips. So when I saw this look I knew I had to try it out for the days I don't feel like putting on much color! Also, I have heard amazing things about the Laura Mercier Foundation, and I am still on the hunt for that perfect foundation for my skin. If you have any suggestions please let me know! Distressed jeans are HUGE this season; again still looking for that perfect match for me. I just can't justify $200 for a pair of jeans quite yet. Just a little secret between you and me, that sweater is only $16!! And yep, those are yet another pair of booties. With a bow on them. And they are Kate Spade. Funny how I can't justify $200 jeans but I sure can justify a $350 pair of booties.

    Happy Labor Day weekend!! Lately I realized how lacking I am in shoes, especially for fall.   So I am sharing some of the shoes that are on the top of my fall/winter list and why I need them.   I own one pair of booties and love them so so much; I might even love them more than tall    boots. Which means I need more, lots more. I also lack in heels when it comes to any color    other than nude. I will say that I still am learning to not look like a baby deer walking in them  (you'd think dancing in pointe shoes would help with that!), so that could be another reason why I have so few pair. Leopard is HUGE this season which means the leopard heels I have above  are a necessity. Living up north means there will be a lot more snow. Snow = Boots. I'm not too crazy about the coral Hunter boots (my heart is still set on hot pink or tiffany blue) so I will  probably go with something else. I am absolutely in love with the Tory Burch riding boots along with this Michael Kors pair, and I mean hello, you can't go through the colder months without a pair of boots. Oh and yes, cowboy boots are most definitely on my list.
