The Character Sweater

Wednesday, May 4, 2016

Sweater- Boohoo, similar here & here // Vest- Windsor, splurge or save // Denim- Nordstrom Rack // Shoes- Banana Republic, splurge or save // Sunglasses- Charming Charlie // Earrings- Old, similar here; Banana Republic, love these // Bracelets-  Nordstrom Rack, similar here; Nordstrom Rack, similar here; Essentially Raine

As Joanna Gaines would say, "It just needs more character"; my thoughts exactly on this sweater. It's just a simple plain black sweater but the criss cross detail in the back makes it have so much character. Unfortunately it's out of stock but I see a similar style pop up on Boohoo.com every few months. You're time will come my friend, I promise.

It's the beginning of May and the trees are still bare, it's between forty and fifty degrees, and it has been raining all.week.long. It just proves that Jesus made me a southern girl at heart who needs the opposite of all those things. But He's also proven that He is a trustworthy and faithful guy who knows what he's doing; therefore, keep the rain coming Jesus!

Girly Girl Trench

Monday, April 25, 2016

Trench Coat- Nordstrom Rack // Tee- Banana Republic // Shorts- American Eagle // Heels- Old, similar // Bag- Out of stock, love this // Earrings- Banana Republic (on sale!); Old, similar here // Bracelets- Nordstrom Rack, similar here; Nordstrom Rack, similar here // Ring- Banana Republic (on sale!)

This coat is a dream come true. It has a ruffle, it's my color, and well it's a trench coat. It took me all of three second to make it mine. Just a heads up, they only have a few sizes left in this color and one size left in the grey/silver color.

Next product has to be the tee I am wearing. I'm always adding white t-shirts to my closet no matter what. So when I came across this fitted and incredibly soft tee I knew I was going to make it a repurchase.

My favorite ice cream shop (ever) has finally opened for the season, #CapeCodproblems! Needless to say, I have already been there twice this past week, and i'm planning on making sure they know my order by heart when summer rolls around, ha!

Bloomin' + Sales

Friday, April 22, 2016

Dress- Banana Republic // Jacket- Banana Republic // Pumps- DSW, similar here // Earrings- Old, similar here // Bracelets- Nordstrom Rack, similar here; Nordstrom Rack, similar here

I was in desperate need of an Easter dress this year, and it just so happens that my size came back in stock just in time (Hallelujah!). I originally paired it with this trench, but to tone it down a notch I paired it with a denim jacket.

There are two great sales going on right now. The first being Tory Burch. When you spend $250 you save 20% off, spend $500 save 25% off, or spend $750 and save 30% off, use the code BLOOM at checkout to receive your savings. But really, it is taking my whole being not to buy a new bag or a pair of shoes. You can shop the sale here here, but grab it when you see it because everything goes pretty quickly.

Finally, Saks Fifth Avenue is having up to 30% off selected items until April 25th! You can shop this sale here.

Happy weekend, and thanks for reading! xo

Cluster Drop Earrings

Jacket- Banana Republic, similar here & here // Sweater- Old, similar here & here // Denim- Banana Republic // Shoes- Old Navy // Sunglasses- Francesca's, identical // Belt-  // Earrings- Nordstrom Rack (only $10!!) // Lipstick- MAC in "Fleshpot"

I've always been the one to reach for delicate jewelry. I love statement pieces but I can't wear them more than twice. That's why I was so drawn to these earrings while shopping in Nordstrom Rack. They're an easy start to the statement world because they are on the smaller side. Not to mention the price tag was something I could hang with.

I can't wait to start photographing spring outfits. It's still too cold outside to not have your arms and legs covered. I went down south last weekend, and I got so excited for the 70 degree weather they have been having. But of course I brought down the cold weather with me. But at least there's sunshine! Which is what I will be enjoying this weekend. What are y'alls plans for the weekend?

The Styles I Go Back To

Friday, March 11, 2016

Today I wanted to talk about the styles I always reach for and can count on.

The first being shirt dresses. I think they are one of the easiest and most versatile dresses out there. I feel so put together in them, and all that's left to do is style the accessories. They're also fun because you can easily make them into a top by tucking them in a pair of pants or a skirt.

Secondly comes simple loose blouses. If there is anything that you need in your closet it would be the perfect plain blouse. I remember back in my freshman year of high school when that's all I would buy other than work out clothes. I had my comfy clothes and then I had all these tops, so I was set on an outfit for school and an outfit for dinner with family or friends.

Next shall be the basic little skirt. I'm saying little instead of mini because for myself personally I don't like to go too short. While I love patterned skirts they are not something I get the most wear out of. I love how hassle free they are; I don't have to stand there and figure out an outfit around the skirt. All I have to do is throw it on with a tee and vest and i'm ready to take on the day.

Last but definitely not least would be outerwear. Anything from a vest to a trench coat to a fur coat. I'll take an extra boost of chic that's for sure haha! Outerwear is the number one thing I have shopped for the past six months or so. When I pair a dress with a trench it makes me feel like one of those popular Pinterest posts, and when you feel like you've concurred something from Pinterest you can live happily ever after.

Also, I really quickly just wanted to mention Social Print Studio. We are coming upon the season of weddings, tons of birthdays, mother's/father's day, Easter and so forth. Which means gift giving. Social Print Studio is really neat because you can create anything from photo books to stickers of pictures from your Instagram or the pictures of your choosing. They are affordable and add the perfect touch of personal to your gift. I personally love the photostrips; I think they are a great gift to give my friends who are staying in dorm rooms; because they are a lot easier and fun to decorate with than a picture frame.
