I have failed yet again when it comes to the "perfect blogger life". But y'all, it's reality! I forgot the jacket I originally styled with the outfit on shoot day, and you will see in a later post that I forgot to take my hair tie off AND I had a run in my tights. I will still be posting that because 1. I just don't have the patience to retake that outfit, and 2. i'm not trying to make a perfect image for this blog. Because we all wake up and throw on a pair of tights and run out the door realizing there is a hole in them at some point in our lives, ha!

Anyway, on to the outfit and past my failures of the week. This.top. It's even prettier in person! This color is what drew me in, but I was afraid the color was too bright for my very fair skin. But I can report back that it is indeed a color we fair people can pull off! This top with white denim and wedges will be perfect for spring weekends!

Floral Puffer Vest & Lace Detail

Wednesday, December 13, 2017

Top- Gap // Denim- Gap // Vest- Marshall's, floral vests here & here // Shoes- Banana Republic, similar here, here, and here // Earrings- Old, similar here// Rings- Heart of Stone & Marley Lilly

I'm not going to even try to hide the fact that this is a girl's top. But if we're being honest here, sometimes the girls stuff is cuter (and cheaper!!) than the women's. I love the detail of the lace on the sleeve because it's something that in all my time researching clothing and fashion I have never seen. I just wish they came in women's and girl's sizes. *cough Ehem, Gap! *cough

Another piece that I love is this vest, which I believe is still available at Marshall's. It will just depend in your store. It's reversible, so in my book that's like pockets on a dress, i.e. SOLD! So definitely check out the Marshall's or T.J.Maxx near you.

So the time of freedom has arrived! My finals were over last week, so I had a day off yesterday and I honestly didn't know what to do with myself. Now I can truly enjoy the holidays, and y'all will be very proud to know that all of the major gifts I needed to buy have been bought and are waiting to be wrapped! So i'm patting myself on the back since I am the typical procrastinator. But i'm cheering you if you still have your shopping to do, because like I said, this is the first year I am done before Christmas day! If y'all need some more encouragement on gifts go to my favorite gift finder Haley from Sequins and Things.

Buffalo Plaid Duster

Monday, November 6, 2017

Dress/Duster- BB Dakota // Top- Banana Republic // Pants- Gap // Shoes- fab'rik // Earrings- Old, similar here // Rings- Marley Lilly & Heart of Stone

You know when you hit the jackpot, and you just so happen to be at the right place at the right time? That was me when I found this dress. A store was closing so everything was 40-60% off. So I snagged this fantastic piece. I love the dress with a good pair of heels and a belt, but since it is a full button down I decided to turn it in a duster for an outfit.

How are y'all all doing after this round of daylight saving time? I have to admit I totally forgot that it was fall back and not spring forward, as stupid as that sounds, but I was very glad to know I had an extra hour of sleep.

Thanks for stopping by! xo

P.S. Do we like the new blog design?!

Turquoise Blazer

Wednesday, March 16, 2016

Blazer- Banana Republic (on sale!)
Tee- Gap, almost identical
Denim- Gap
Shoes- Banana Republic, similar
Bag- Rebecca Minkoff, similar
Earrings- Banana Republic
Necklace- Kendra Scott

When you mix my obsession with blazers and smack the color turquoise on one then all is right in the world of Catharine (imagine what a pink one would do ha!). It's just what I was looking for to get my out of the black and grey slump from winter. It adds the pop I was looking for while keeping me warm in the still cool weather. While on the subject of spring and blazers I thought i'd just throw this one out there. It's a statement but oh my goodness does it look stunning on.

Easter is so close and as usual I haven't found a dress yet. Nothing is popping out at me this year. Suggestions on styles or stores are most welcome! (;

Brown Hues

Wednesday, February 24, 2016

Cardigan- Altar'd State, similar
T Shirt- Gap
Shoes- Old, similar
Hat- H&M, love this
Handbag- Kate Spade
Earrings- A gift, similar
Necklace- Etsy, similar

I've been dying to find a hat like this, but I wasn't willing to spend $50 or more for it knowing I wasn't going to be able to wear it all the time. Last week I stopped by South Shore Plaza and into H&M. They had a pretty decent selection and all for $30 or under (hallelujah!). So needless to say I was at the register once I found this one.

One of the things I told my dad when we moved up to Cape Cod was that by the time we moved again I would like to know Boston/my favorites in the city. I was so excited to add something to that list on Saturday: the North End Park. Come spring and summer it's such a relaxing area with the swings and a pastry in hand after a day of shopping on Newbury Street.

Do any of you have a favorite spot in a city? If so, I wanna know so I can visit haha! xo

Blazer- Old, similar here
Tunic- Gap, similar here
Leggings- Forever 21
Booties- Tory Burch, similar here & here
Scarf- Altar'd State, Columbiana Centre location, similar here

Even though this was a few weekends back I wanted to post a Weekend Wear anyway, because these are a few of my favorite pieces. Saturday I wanted to dress comfy and within the dress code of both my jobs. That was the day the first blizzard hit. I forgot to bring another pair of shoes and I wasn't expecting the weather to be as bad as it was; however, I'm happy to report that my booties survived trekking through a boot of snow.  But thankfully I found out I got my money's worth out of them, ha!

Sunday was just a lazy/sick/recover from the blizzard kind of day. I've loved the sweatshirts that look like they have a hood but they don't. Basically they are cowl neck with drawstrings. I have found a few that are either out of stock in my size or overpriced. I ran into Gap and found this one on the clearance rack. I'm not crazy about the print on it but at least it has something to do with traveling!

Dress- Gap (On sale!!)
Shoes- DSW

A friend and I were browsing the sale section at Gap when she came across this dress. There were so many dresses I tried on but this one stood out. We ended up buying it for both of us! You literally can throw it on and be in your pajamas while looking so dressed up. Plus it has pockets. The end.

Thank God it's Friday! I plan on lounging around the house all day long. Do y'all have any fun weekend plans?
