If you follow me on Instagram then you probably already know that my family and I took a little getaway to Acadia, Maine this weekend. I think the reason why I loved it so much is because it reminded me of North Carolina; the drive from SC to NC is one of my favorites. The funny thing was, none of us actually looked to see what the weather would be like, and it turned out to be rainy on the day we would spend there. It was a little crazy and cold and wet but what's an adventure without a few obstacles?! My family and I agreed that we will definitely be back to hike those gorgeous trails (since we weren't able to actually set foot on them due to the weather)!
Favorite places in the park: Sand Beach & Thunder Hole
Where we stayed: Acadia Sunrise Motel
One thing I will say if you are playing a trip to Acadia is that almost every place you could get some shut eye at looked like a motel. You could stay in a place for $150 a night or a place for $70 a night and they would look the same.
Recommendations to visit: Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse at sunset
Recommended wear: Chances are people are just going to be looking at the views not what you are wearing. Dress for comfort and weather.
Another thing that's pretty cool to see/do is walk across the ocean floor to bar harbor at low tide. You heard me right, you can actually get to Bar Harbor on foot as long as you know when the low tide schedule is. Then you can drive past later and see just how high it gets.
Thanks for stopping by! xo
